Since the creation of the CPS in 1989, science, training institutes, police forces and other security and emergency services have met on the activities organized by the CPS.

The CPS is an independent not-for-profit organization of volunteers whose aim is to contribute jointly with the police and all other security actors to solving societal issues and problems in the broad field of security, promoting scientific research, studies and publications on the subject.

The activities organized by the CPS and the themes around which the CPS works are therefore always at the crossroads of the security sector, the police and society.

Check the list of our structural partners here.

Since 2015, the CPS has been working on a number of work areas or fields of study. In this way, the CPS does not limit itself to purely police-related problems and issues, but focuses on the broad field of security. The aim is to appeal to a broad public.

The 7 domains around which the CPS works are:

Police

Local-integrated security policy

Police powers

Special inspection services and fraud prevention

Event and crisis management

Innovation, Technology and Security

International police and justice cooperation

Why become a structural partner?

The CPS is a non-subsidized association of voluntary partners, where quality comes first, but precisely because the input in the Centre is almost entirely based on voluntary partners, the offer of services is highly dependent on the commitment of those partners. Becoming a structural partner and paying a contribution for this is therefore more than paying for a service. By doing so, you show explicitly that you support the objectives and the continued existence of the CPS.

If you feel attracted by the vision, activities and plans, if you want to help us continue to achieve our objectives, then become a structural partner. In this way you support the work of the Centre both morally and financially.

You too will benefit from it! What are the advantages for you?

Structural partners of the CPS are, even more than ordinary customers, part of a network of practitioners from the police, the (private) security sector, justice and neighbouring domains, emergency workers, (social) scientists (academics, scientific researchers, professors, researchers at policy institutions) as well as administrative and judicial authorities, police practitioners, inspectorates, politicians … . This offers all kinds of advantages: the possibility to exchange knowledge and skills, to seek cooperation, and so on. After all, the CPS wants to bring partners into contact with each other.

The concrete advantage that the CPS can offer its partners is a fixed discount of 10% on the registration price for events (seminars, debates, seminars, etc.) organized by the CPS (excluding training courses). This discount is a fixed percentage. So the more you participate, the greater your advantage.

But there is more:

Structural partners are given the opportunity to suggest themes that can be the subject of an activity of the CPS. The voice and input of our partners is important to us. Naturally, your suggestion will first be evaluated in the CPS Board of Directors in terms of quality and feasibility.

Your organization will be explicitly mentioned as a partner in the documentation folder at conferences and on the CPS website. Don’t forget that the CPS website is visited with every online registration for an activity!

Partners can participate exclusively in one or more additional network activities per year and will also be actively involved. For example, there is the annual New Year’s dinner, at least one discussion evening or academic seminar per year,…

Partners are also given the opportunity to participate in the selection of the CPS prize for the best Dutch-language thesis.

Partners receive a certificate of partnership.

Who can become a structural partner?

In principle, any organization interested in CPS’s work may become a structural partner in support of CPS’s mission and corporate governance code (see corporate governance code) subject to approval by the Executive Board.

Contribution

The contribution for the structural partnership of the CPS is paid annually and is tacitly renewable.

Notice of termination can be given each year (in writing) before 1 December of the current working year.

There are two categories of partnership:

SILVER partners are members of the association but do not have any specific duty in the general assembly.

GOLD partners are members of the association and also have general assembly vote.

There are various categories of contributions. Among other things, your contribution is calculated according to the size and nature of your organization according to the following schedule:

Local police: according to the zone category (KUL standard)

Category 1 (= up to 74 effectives): SILVER: 275 euros per year – GOLD: 325 euros per year

Category 2 (= from 75 effectives): SILVER: 330 euros per year – GOLD: 390 euros per year

Category 3 (= from 150 effectives): SILVER: 410 euros per year – GOLD: 480 euros per year

Category 4 (= from 300 effectives): SILVER: 520 euros per year – GOLD: 600 euros per year

Category 5 (= from 600 effectives): SILVER: 660 euros per year – GOLD: 750 euros per year.

Other public institutions (governments, public institutions, training institutions, inspection services, etc.): SILVER: 440 euros per year – GOLD: 525 euros per year.

Non-independent partners (private security and surveillance companies, companies):
SILVER: 660 euros per year – GOLD: 750 euros per year.

In addition to a financial contribution, there are also other possibilities to support the CPS. One can always make a material contribution by structurally providing equipment, catering or other logistical support (rooms, staff, etc.) during activities.
